BIOMATERIAL FOR INSULATING PLASTY OF LARGE TENDONS
Biomaterial for insulating plasty of large tendons
Size
A two layer biological implant for isolating plasty of large tendons is made on the basis of a xenopericardial plate. It is a decellularized collagen-elastic framework, devoid of immunogenic potential.
The biomaterial has two heterogeneous surfaces with different behavior after implantation. Serous smooth sliding surface has bioresistance and prevents the formation of adhesions with surrounding tissues. This allows us to ensure the consistency and functionality of the synovial sheath of the tendon, to avoid contracture caused by scarring of tissues and tendons. The fibrous wooly surface of the biomaterial is actively fused with the tendon, acting as a matrix for cell penetration and active biointegration.
Degenerative damage to large tendons without diastasis with separation of the fibers ends (Achilles tendon, quadriceps tendon of the thigh, etc.)
The technique is based on the properties of the biomaterial from which the cuff is sewn with the serous side to the synovial tendom sheath. After performing the seam, the cuff is straightened, isolating the seam area from the surrounding tissues.
The clinical analysis of the technique using biomaterial is based on the surgical treatment of more than one hundred patients with long-standing tendon injuries. More information about the clinical effectiveness of the product and method can be found in the publications published in the section "Publications"
